Instructions

  1. In a medium saucepan, combine cooked basmati rice, turmeric powder, salt, and pepper. If desired, add olive oil or butter. Stir over low heat until evenly colored and fragrant.
  2. Steam broccoli florets in a steamer basket over boiling water for 4-5 minutes until bright green and tender. Alternatively, sauté in olive oil on medium heat.
  3. For the soft-boiled egg, bring water to a boil in a pot. Gently lower the egg into the water and cook for 6-7 minutes. Transfer to ice water immediately to stop cooking.
  4. To assemble the bowl, place turmeric rice on one side, arrange broccoli beside it, and top with halved soft-boiled egg. Garnish with dried herbs and additional seasoning if desired.
